Football talent discovery app, Tonsser, raises a €5.5 million series A round

News

Tonsser, Europe’s largest football performance app, has secured a Series A funding round of €5.5m led by Alven with participation from existing investors SEED Capital and Wellington Partners

Currently live in eight European countries with more than 800,000 football players registered on the app, Tonsser uses players’ stats to deliver individual performance-based player ratings. With the app, youth football players can track their performances, apply for trials and events, and build their football resume. By offering clubs a data based scouting approach, the goal is to give more players a fair chance to attract the attention of clubs and scouts on the platform. Tonsser also partners with brands including Nike and Adidas, to engage with this next generation of players.

Tonsser has just raised a €5.5 million series A led by Alven with the participation of existing investors SEED Capital and Wellington Partners.

This new round happens a few weeks after Tonsser announced a new scouting relationship with English Premier League Club Huddersfield Town who is the first English Premier League club to use Tonsser to identify and track young talent at scale based on performance data and video.

With this new financing round, Tonsser will keep growing the already #1 app and community for youth players and match them with clubs searching for the next generation of talent. The purpose going ahead is to create new journeys and opportunities for players via data.

Tonsser is preparing to launch in the UK in 2019, and the company will also be looking to launch the app outside of Europe in the next years. With football growing fast across the Atlantic, the US is in the plans.
