Mailjet acquired by Mailgun

News

Mailgun announced today the acquisition of Mailjet, Europe’s leading email solution. The acquisition of Mailjet will enable the US-based company to create the worldwide leader in emailing and expand its foothold in European markets.

Founded in 2010, incubated by startup studio eFounders and headed by Alexis Renaud since 2013, Mailjet offers an all-in-one platform to create, send and optimize marketing and transactional emails. Mailjet raised a $3.3m Series A round with Alven in November 2012, followed by a $11m Series B in 2015 led by Iris and Seventure. Mailjet has offices in New-York, Londres, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Barcelone, Sofia, Toronto, Amsterdam and Ho Chi Minh City.

The platform includes a responsive email editor, an easily integrated API which is available in several programming languages and SMTP relay software. The solution caters to more than 130,000 customers in over 150 countries, with over 2 billion emails sent each month.

“Now that Mailjet and Mailgun have joined forces, our objective is to become the most used emailing platform in the world”, comments Will Conway, Mailgun’s CEO. “Mailjet distinguishes itself by its ability to understand and answer European clients expectations, its local presence and intuitive interface. This acquisition provides Mailgun with a unique opportunité to reinforce its global presence and to offer large international companies the experience of expert European teams”.

Alven is proud to have supported Mailjet’s development into a leader in email marketing for the past 6 years.
